Lenovo has added one more laptop to its range of budget friendly laptops. The new Lenovo 320-15 is a 15-inch Windows 10 laptop powered by an AMD processor with 8GB RAM. What makes it a good choice, however, is its impressive performance and a price tag that is below $400.

Weighing 4.85 lbs – many would find this Lenovo laptop a bit bulky. But for a 15.6-inch screen, a mechanical hard disk, and a DVD drive – the weight is nearly justified. We love those curvy edges and a clean, professional look of Lenovo 320-15.

What’s better is hidden underneath this 15.6-inch laptop. A 2.7GHz AMD A12-9720P Quad-Core processor powers this Lenovo laptop and makes it capable of handling power-hungry tasks. 8GB DDR4 RAM is more than enough for usual multitasking.

A huge 1TB hard disk provides space for storing tonnes of data. Lenovo has decided to include a huge HDD instead of a tiny SDD to provide more storage while also keeping the cost down. But a 7200 RPM HDD would have been better instead of a standard 5400 RPM HDD.

Powered by AMD Radeon R7 graphics, Lenovo 320-15 outputs almost flawless picture quality on its 15.6-inch HD display at a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. While it’s of course not capable of handling high-end games, you can play games like Minecraft and Terraria on this budget-friendly Lenovo laptop.

The pre-installed Windows 10 Home operating system works very well. It boots up quickly and applications run pretty smooth. Although it performs well during most day to day tasks, expect it to get a little hot during moderate, power-demanding tasks.

For wireless connectivity, Lenovo has provided a fast 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.1 – both of which are pleasant surprises. The WiFi works very well and shows no signs of connectivity issues.

A USB Type-C port, two USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI port, a VGA port and a headphone-in jack are present to help you connect with different peripherals. A gigabit Ethernet (RJ-45) port is available to let you connect to wired networks. A multimedia card reader is also available to transfer files to and from memory cards.

All these ports are present on the left-hand side – making the left side of the laptop a bit crowded.

While most laptops no longer carry a DVD drive these days, Lenovo has decided to pack one with this laptop for some reasons. If your work involves dealing with CDs and DVDs, then you will not need an external DVD drive, thankfully. Otherwise, this DVD drive will just be increasing weight in your bag.

A 2-cell lithium ion battery provides around 4.5 hours of usage on a full charge. This backup will depend on the tasks you are performing, of course. But at this price range, this backup is acceptable.

With a Quad-Core AMD processor, 8GB RAM, 1TB storage and a crisp 15.6-inch display, Lenovo has built a pleasant Windows 10 laptop. This budget friendly laptop outputs very commendable performance at a low price tag under $400.

By providing disappearing technologies like a DVD drive and a VGA port, Lenovo has given this laptop more compatibility. Many users will appreciate these ‘ancient’ technologies.
