Microsoft has started accepting pre-orders for its highly anticipated Surface Book 2 laptop. These pre-orders will start shipping on 16th November. The 13.5-inch Surface Book 2 model will be available for pre-orders in the US and ‘additional markets’ around the world, according to Microsoft. The 15-inch model will be available in the US only for the time being.
The all-new Surface Book 2 is powered by latest 8th-generation “Kaby Lake” Intel Core processor along with 8/16GB RAM and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050/1060 discrete graphics.
Packed with impressive tech specs, Surface Book 2 is up to five times more powerful than the first Surface Book and twice as powerful as the MacBook Pro, says Microsoft. The company also claims that Surface Book 2 will provide an all-day battery life with up to 17 hours of video playback.
“Surface Book 2 removes the barrier between the desktop and the laptop,” said Panos Panay, corporate vice president, Microsoft Devices, while introducing Surface Book 2 last month. “It gives mobile professionals the power of a desktop, the versatility of a tablet, and the freedom of a light and thin laptop in one beautifully designed device.”
Microsoft Surface Book 2 sounds like a powerful laptop in theory. Now that its pre-orders have begun, it will be interesting to see how well it is received by customers.
13-inch and 15-inch Surface Book 2 models start at $1,499 and $2,499, respectively. You can pre-order both models from Microsoft Store starting right now. Surface Book 2 can be pre-ordered from Amazon, as well.
