The Link Bar soundbar announced by Harman — the owner of the JBL brand, and Google in May this year has just received a shipping date. According to the listing on B&H, JBL’s latest soundbar will start shipping from October 16. Pre-orders has already begun for Link Bar which means if you were waiting for a soundbar powered by Google, you won’t have to wait too much to bring it home.
JBL Link Bar comes equipped with Android TV as well as Google’s personal assistant — simply called Google Assistant. Link Bar will give you an all-in-one solution for your audio and set-top box needs along with always-listening personal assistant. You can use “Hey Google” to play TV shows while other usual Google Assistant commands will also work with your soundbar.
JBL Link Bar is packed with up to 100W of power. Your money won’t give you a sound that can shake your room because there’s no subwoofer included but JBL has made it compatible with their other wireless speakers. It has four HDMI ports. One of these ports is ARC compatible and is used to connect the soundbar with the TV. There’s Chromecast built-in and then there are Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity options.
JBL Link Bar soundbar will cost you $399 with pre-orders already live on B&H. Expect your Android-TV powered JBL soundbar to arrive in October.
