NVIDIA Releases VR-optimized Drivers for Oculus Rift and HTC Vive

Nvidia GeForce VR Optimized Driver
NVIDIA has released VR-optimized driver to support Oculus Rift and HTC Vive VR headsets. New driver will help minimize latency, improve performance and stability.

With the launch of Oculus Rift VR headset today and HTC Vive VR headset scheduled to arrive next week, NVIDIA has released VR-optimized drivers to support them both. These VR-optimized drivers, known as version 364.72, will support Virtual Reality games like Chronos, Elite Dangerous, EVE: Valkyrie and other games like Dark Souls III, Killer Instinct, Paragon and Quantum Break.

NVIDIA’s new VR-optimized drivers will help minimize latency, improve performance, and add support for NVIDIA’s new VRWorks features to enhance the gaming experience further.

“Since its beginnings (sic) as a Kickstarter project in 2012, NVIDIA has worked closely with Oculus and Virtual Reality game developers to optimize and improve the Virtual Reality experience,” said NVIDIA’s Andrew Burnes in a blog entry.

NVIDIA emphasizes best gaming experience in performance and stability since day-1. “Prior to a new title launching, our driver team is working up until the last minute to ensure every performance tweak and bug fix possible makes it into the Game Ready driver. As a result, you can be sure you’ll have the best day-1 gaming experience for your favorite new titles,” suggests the driver release highlights.

To download and install NVIDIA’s new VR-optimized drivers, open GeForce Experience on your device and click on the “Drivers” tab. These drivers can also be downloaded via NVIDIA’s drivers page by selecting your hardware.
