“What would be the ideal robot vacuum cleaner?” When London-based designer Mathieu Servais was asked this question, he came up with this smart vacuum cleaning robot. In a week-long test project for Samsung, Mathieu designed a future vacuum cleaning robot which will follow your orders, clean your house, empty itself and help you keep your house clean.
Mathieu’s vacuum cleaning robot comprises of two major parts: One is the robot itself, and the base which acts as a place to empty the dust from the robot. The base is where our cleaning robot ‘parks’ itself when it is not doing its job.
The robot Mathieu has designed is smart and efficient. It can detect things lying on floor and decide what to clean and what to avoid. It can also determine the best route for optimal cleaning by creating a complete map of your house. Its ‘Omni-Tracks’ allow the robot to move in both directions without taking turns of requiring any re-adjustment.
Mathieu’s concept of robot vacuum cleaner features voice control and visual recognition. You can point at things and give your little robot some instructions. It will recognize your commands and what you point to thanks to its voice control and visual recognition.
And vacuum cleaners are not supposed to be heavy and hard to carry around. This future robot is easy to grab in hands, in case you need to move it across the floors. Just lift it up and take it to another floor, and our enthusiastic robot is ready to take orders again.
Our little cleaning robot is smart enough to understand when its bin is full. It will go to the base and empty itself, automatically. When the bin at base is also full, you will receive a notification on your smartphone so you can empty the base.
When your vacuum cleaning robot is off-duty, it stays parked at base. The base and robot are designed to be slim, taking much less space in your house.
