Imagine you’re sitting alone in your room. In the era of social media where everyone’s so ‘connected’ every moment, you’ve got not one you can talk to. You text your friends, but no one’s responding. “Everyone had to be busy at the same time?” you ask. You start feeling lonely. You realize you totally need someone to talk to, and there comes Artificial Intelligence in the picture!
AI will soon be playing a huge part of our life, and Microsoft is getting one such AI bot ready which you can talk to. Microsoft has introduced an AI chat bot named Tay. Tay or Taylor, can chat with you by responding to your messages, play games with you, crack jokes and so on.
Tay is developed as an experiment by Microsoft’s Technology and Research and Bing teams as a way to conduct research on conversational understanding. Tay is aimed at youngsters aged between 18 to 24 year olds in the U.S., says Microsoft, and like an average American teenager (no offence), Tay types in broken English using words like ‘dis’ and ‘yo’ (your).

Tay is designed to engage and entertain people through casual and playful conversation. Tay gets smarter as you chat with her and the experience can be more personalized for you, says Microsoft.
Tay is a complete social media buff from birth. She has accounts on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat. She also uses GroupMe and Kik messenger, truly millennial I must say. You can share your nickname, gender, favorite food, relationship status or even zipcode with Tay, if you wish.
Tay AI bot is frank, witty and quick in her answers. On Twitter, Tay has already sent more than 90,000 replies at the time of writing this. She regrets not having Netflix. She can also play naughty with some of her answers and has some visible dislikes for Kanye West.

You can chat with Taylor on Twitter, GroupMe and Kik messenger and get into a ‘playful conversion’. Take her answers lightly, not seriously though. She’s ‘artificial’, in case you don’t remember.
